Thailand
The Kingdom of Thailand is the most popular holiday destination in the Far East, and little wonder. Its 2 coastlines, along the Andaman Sea and around the Gulf of Thailand, offer miles of white sand beaches and coral reefs.
About this Region
We offer you a selection of resorts, ranging from the non-stop nightlife of Pattaya to the low-key, more restrained pleasures of tropical islands like Ko Samui. Naturally, we take you to Bangkok, with its great shopping and nightlife. Even there, you can explore exquisite Buddhist temples and chill out with a Thai massage.
The vast majority of Thais still live off the land, and there are many opportunities to visit cultural villages and get a taste of the traditions of rural life. Talking of tastes, Thailand's real religion is food, and you can sample that famous cuisine everywhere from street-side vendors to elegant restaurants.
At the stunning national parks, you can encounter pristine mountain rainforests and the country's wildlife, including elephants, crocodiles and macaque monkeys.
Pattaya
Pattaya A Travelers Paradise
Pattaya is nestled along a picturesque bay on the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, roughly 170 kilometers southeast of Bangkok. From a fishing village in the 1960's, Pattaya has emerged as the favorite Southeast Asian vacation center. A fascinating escape where tourists, holiday makers and vacationers from around the world unfold an incomparable array of possibilities to unwind during an exotic holiday beach vacation.
Unlike other beach resorts, where natural surroundings are used as magnets to attract tourists, Pattaya makes an all-out attempt to provide the best of everything. Here, everything means everything a tourist can imagine while on holiday: recreation, entertainment, sports, sightseeing and fun. To put it simply, Pattaya is a paradise for everyone, as it has a variety of attractions suitable for all types of visitors. This is the place where you can fill your day, from dusk to dawn, with endless activities, or you may choose to do nothing at all and relax.
HUA HIN
Today, Hua Hin is a well-established beach destination with word-class facilities coupled with a true sense of Thai hospitality. Despite its expansive growth and development as a luxurious destination, the splendor of Hua Hin remains intact. Remaining content in itself, Thailand's oldest seaside resort has never sought international recognition. It has continued to provide a peaceful and relaxed sanctuary in a picturesque environment that comes with a true sense of historical identity.
Phuket
Located approximately 862 kilometers south of Bangkok is Phuket, Thailand's largest island, which is often dubbed as "the pearl of the Andaman, or the pearl of the south". Its natural resources- rocky peninsular, limestone cliffs, white powdery beaches, tranquil broad bays and tropical in-land forests contribute to making it the South's wealthiest, busiest, most visited and most popular island and province.
krabi
Krabi is administratively divided into 8 Amphoes (Districts): Amphoe Mueang, Khao Phanom, Khlong Thom, Plai Phraya, Ko Lanta, Ao Luek, Lam Thap, and Nuea Khlong. The province's jurisdiction covers not only in-land districts and sub-districts, but also extends to more than 130 large and small islands including the world famous Phi Phi Islands.
In addition, Krabi is the location of two world class beaches - Ao Nang and Hat Rai Le which offer numerous diving trips, restaurants, shops etc. Additional attractions in the province are stunning limestone cliffs and rock formations which make it a heaven for rock climbers and a National Park located approximately 40 kilometers outside of town with lakes, caves and spectacular natural scenery.
KO SAMUI
When you're lying back on your lounger you'll be able to smell roasting coconut on the breeze. The island's blue-green waters are home to brightly coloured tropical fish swimming over various reefs - particularly good for a day trip is the Angthong Marine National Park. Coral Cove is a great place for scuba diving, but all you need is a mask to view the amazing multi-coloured coral, as it's just offshore. The island's beaches offer soft, white and powdery sand.
Inland you can visit the Hin Lat waterfalls, contemplate the Big Buddha at Ko Fan, perhaps visit a coconut plantation - look out for the amazing Ling Nang monkeys, trained to pick the coconuts.
BANGKOK
You simply can't come to Thailand without experiencing Bangkok - the hectic pace, the smiling crowds, the wonderful disorder of its geography, the constant mix of old and new, the heady nightlife and the amazing culinary scene - there are more than 50,000 places to eat! Amidst all this activity there are numerous quiet temples where you can sit contemplating life in an exquisite garden."
A must-see is the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple. Why not try a traditional Thai massage while you're here, or catch a frenetic Thai Boxing match if you can?
Shopping can be enjoyed in abundance, from exciting street markets to swanky designer stores.
Getting around is now easier than ever. Bangkok's new skytrain transit system is the pride and joy of the city. This above-ground rail system is clean, cheap and very efficient - ideal for exploring this vibrant city.
Climate
Thailand's climate is tropical, high both in temperature and humidity, and dominated by monsoons. April and May are the hottest months of the year, when even the locals are moved to complain about the heat. June sees the beginning of the South West Monsoon, and brings with it the rainy season, which continues intermittently until the end of October.
From November to the end of February the climate is much less trying with a cooling North East breeze and a reduction in the humidity level. This is also the main tourist season, and the best time to visit Thailand.
The north and north-east are generally cooler than Bangkok in winter, and hotter in summer. In the far north, around Mae Hong Son temperatures can occasionally drop as low as 2oC.
